Stiff and stable frames have always been a Principia trademark. The Principia wants to manufacture frames that give you maximum power transfer and perfect control during critical manoeuvres. Their latest generation of road frames in the Principia ELLIPSE PROJECT create a new standard for stiffness to weight ratio. In addition, The DESIGN 2 SIZE (D2S) technology optimises comfort by adapting the tube dimensions to the frame size. Principia frames are tested rigorously every day by the riders of the professional cycling teams Team Capinordic and Team An Post Sean Kelly.

Principia was the first manufacturer to guide the cables directly through the head tube giving the frame an elegant and aerodynamic appearance.

The latest generation of Principia’s acclaimed aluminium frames set new quality standards. With the new generation of Tube Inserted Welding 2 (TIW2), Principia’s frames are welded on both the inside and the outside. TIW2 gives extreme durability around the welds and the durability is enhanced even further by conical and triple butted tubes. The newly developed Principia Magnum Aluminium (PMA) alloy ensures that a high level of comfort is maintained.

GEOMETRY

BOTTOM BRACKET: Revolution C40T & Ellipse C24T use the BB86 press fit system. (FSA, Shimano, SRAM, Campagnolo) MSLe Pro C40T, MSL C24T & MSL C16T use the BB30 system. All other models use a 68 mm bottom bracket with BSA-threading (1.37” x 24 TPI)

SEAT POSTS: The D2S models use 27,2 mm seat posts up to size 55. Sizes 57 and larger use 31,6 mm seat posts. All other models use 31,6 mm seat posts.

SUSPENSION FORKS: All 2010 Mountain Bike frames are built for 80 or 100mm travel forks. Shorter, or longer, travel forks will compromise the overall handling.
