guide Cyclaire pumps are compact in size, massive in capability and quicker and easier to use than most conventional pumps. Ideally suited to bike tyres, the Cyclaire Pump will work well pushchair tyres, wheelchair tyres, scooter / moped tyres and similar. Cyclaire pumps are better because of the unique pull–cord system, which enables you to get a really long stroke – as long as your arm – from a small, portable pump. This means it's almost like having a full–sized floor pump (or "track pump") in a six–inch case. The pull-cord system is designed to make it easy to reach high pressures. Unlike some conventional pumps that require a lot of strength in the arms and shoulders to force the air into the tyre as the pressure rises, the Cyclaire mechanism takes the strain instead of you - the last 10psi is just about as easy as the first 10psi. Two versions of the Cyclaire pump are available: The Cyclaire Rapid and The Cyclaire Plus. Both are supplied with a carry case, so its easy to take the pump and a few other essentials with you. The Rapid is designed to pump up tyres to pressures up to about 80psi - enough for mountain bikes, kids bikes, prams, pushchairs, wheelchairs, mobility scooters, mopeds, wheelbarrows and many other things with inflatable tyres. If you haven't used a Cyclaire Pump already, you will be surprised at how easily and quickly you can take a tyre from flat to working pressure, just by pulling on the cord. The connector supplied with Cyclaire Pumps is adjustable. This means that you can use it on schrader valves, presta valves and woods valves. This range covers pretty much every inner tube / tyre that we've ever seen. Every Cyclaire Pump has an easy to read, high specification pressure gauge. This helps you to get the right pressure in every tyre every time and also helps to prevent over inflation Cyclaire Pumps are manufactured to exacting standards using quality materials. Engineered to be tough and durable enough for use at home or out on the road / trail, a Cyclaire Pump is a superb example of British design How do you use the Cyclaire pump?
How does a Cyclaire Pump work? Cyclaire's patented technology is, like many good ideas, based on a pretty simple principle. In the case of Cyclaire its the combination of a double ended piston mechanism with a pull cord. As you pull the handle, the pull-cord unwinds and, through a series of gears, drives the double ended piston mechanism. The length of the pull-cord, the gearing and the double ended piston work together to mean that a lot of air can be pumped quickly. A diagram (Downloads -> Large pictures -> Cyclaire) shows what happens inside the Cyclaire pump. You can see how the piston changes direction as the system rotates. In reality the piston moves much faster than is shown here, pushing large amounts of air into your tyre very quickly. How to carry Cyclaire bike pumps ? Each Cyclaire Pump is supplied with a specially designed carry case. As well as a Cyclaire pump, there is enough room for a few other essentials such as an inner tube and tyre levers. The case is specifically designed to attach to bikes, wheelchairs, mobility scooters and prams. Evobike wishes you defectfree ridings! ![]() |
